New version coming out anytime soon?

Hey Efreeze programmers what's the status on a new efreeze version?


I know that a server was created to test it and all but how's that going?
coding is denied until 25th feb.

also my idea is that efreeze to be made unlagged like freezedt and freezeinstaunlagged (the two mods that preceeded efreeze) so everyone stops complaining about ping...

We have some new stuff for the mod. But it was decided to leave 1.32 code-base and return to the 1.27 one. That will take time. At least I have neither time nor wish to do it cause I still don't believe it could change a thing.


Here is a list of stuff which is already added to the mod:

1. Score saving between teem switches.(for those who don't happy with teams but don't want to loose the score).

2. Time-span for reconnecters. Now, a player shall spect some time before he can enter the game.

3. Freeze-for-all game type.The rules are still a subject to change. So, it is experimental.


What is also is going to be added:

* Custom server authorization. GUID-based or key-based. Or even guid/ip, key/ip one. It is for server administrators who will have an instrument to manage player on their servers. It is in development, but stalled cause I really have no time to proceed.

* Efreeze Agent, a custom tool for automatic mod update. In development but, again, stalled. If someone could take it on :)

why use 1.27 code base when we play on 1.31/32??
how can you watch divx4 movie? using divx3 codec or divix5 codec? ;)

just blame the up/downwards compatibility. 1.32 codebased mods can fuck up on 1.31. so take the older code to make the ef-feeling the same on every version :p.

ya well... i heard that none is working on it, but has not much time at his hands atm! give it a little more time.... anyhow, we shouldnt change the mod during a season, no?!
make it and introduce it first day of next season or just in public :P

I know I may get some barking and hissing :) but if you had unlagged working why not add it to the mod? I know you guys despise it but other ppl, like say someone in the usa might like to run it his server :)


Freezedt is fading out a bit, but I've seen croms 64.22.123.109 efreeze server getting somewhat popular. It's all weapons with no punkbuster :) but still...

got few things to say, let's start with the one most important:

1. Monkey, ur links from a few topics aren't working for me, fix it plz :).


2. I would like Railjump in a new mod :P


3. We could also try to start up eFreeze all weapons league, its sexcii (with rocketjump ofc.). Anyway, it will probably become like OSP but then with added functions like thawing/freezing people.

hehe, they sometimes work, and after a while, they don't, and i am not God, so can't fix it

railjumps are already enabled. it is just the server configs that you need to change. Maybe add it to the configs on FN and rest of the servers? i always wanted this lol.


another idea is one from a very long time ago (i know its server config related again). where your team stays frozen after youve won the point so you still have to unfreeze them. it would make the matches much more closer i guess. i dont know if you guys like that or not??

railjumps + hook + faster gamespeed ? ok implement them and u finally got me to leave this mod for good ;).

lol now we wouldnt want that doomy :D yeah its a bit too much but i remember it being on weed server and it was ok. the player gets to choose weather to railjump and wait for the reload in that space they get shot. the benefits of using railjump is balanced with your disadvantage when you are in game.

then you can put speed items all over the maps, fly, teleport all the time, grapple someone's ass and let them take you... it really doesn't matter as long as the hits register!
players staying frozen after the round could be tried though - makes the game more interesting... and going back to simple freezetag you dont want guys, hm?!

simple freezetag is a good idea. as long as enemymodels stay. the only thing i always wanted for efreeze over those years were the models and if those are removed again - well gl to those that will remain xD.

even if people did... nothing would happen like always...
if i still had fun playing this mod i might have another opinion :P
