We already have servers for it, and it would all be 1.31 coz loads of ppl have problems with their efreeze after the new update+no 1.32 weird-pb-lagg.
So the question is, who would take time to schedule all matches one day and make a league site or just implament league topic in an already existing site? Mainly, all we need now in fact, is a site...
I would make a site, but i don't know anything about webmastering.

the idea is nice in itself monkey, but you're forgetting, or you want to forget :P the problems: i guess at least a quarter of this clans won't last until the end of this league, after having lost 2-3 games in a row. and it needs a lot of time to organize, all clans should have at least 7-8 players, if its a 5vs5. 1.31 is not good in my opinion, i don't want to point the finger, but there are always black sheeps if so many clans are in. so 1.32 would be better in my opinion. what about maps? again the standards which everybody played 10000000000 times? I'd like many
customs, teamplay will be even more valuable if people don't know the maps so well. you'd also have to put up strict but logic and fair rules so that there are no complaints! i think it's a good idea in general, i like it, but please give this all some thought and plan it well or the league will end before we played it half!

If only punkbuster were reliable and smooth... We have to choose between an unperfect anticheat software that make your game lagging and a previous version that allow cheating. What a crual choice.
well, on my pentium4 2.6ghz with 512 mb ram ( 2x256 in dual channel ) and 256/128kb connection, i really dont feel pb lag after 2-3 mins.
Maybe you should turn off useless programs when u're playing ?
I have athlon XP 1500+, and i feel lagging but it's not as noticeable.
Intel 6420, 1g ram and 1mb net connection... and no lag -.-

1. So just because one person is so retardedly lazy who think it's too much work to install 1.31 then that person can stay outta this, give us all a break plz. www.planetquake4.net U can get 1.31 there.
2. There will always be ppl with rcon around at matches, and all cheats are very obvious, to me at least. And pb means problems at CWs coz there is always at least someone who has a problem with it, and u must wait 20 mins till everything is ok or longer, 1.31 is just smooth, fast and fun, and it's only a game.

monkey, have you read my post? if you did answer to what i said, if not, read it now and then answer :P on 1.31 people are cheating of whon you'd never expected! it's for fun and it's only a game, true! but 1. i don't have FUN if there are cheaters, and 2. for me it's also a sport - and cheating is like doping - at least for me! and once again, i want some changes, no fun to play only standard maps - if people can download versions, they can also download the map packs! and a neat organisation is the key of a successfull league! so go ahead and organise the stuff, set up rules!
Everyday we all hear about these bot accusations and other insults. And still one of u guys wants to play wars in 1.31. Makes no sense. Its still big job to spectate wars and see if someone cheated or not. U have to record lots of demos and watch many games to see certain player playing. And then comes speculation - one party denies and another party says ye he did. All those things will kill the fun for sure, like abz said.
Ye lags in pb - life cant be pretty all the time. Thats the price we all have to pay because of those ppl who decided to take easier way and use cheats. If someone has got used to white ping, he certainly should start to think about playing with some lag too. There's numerous players in q3 who doesnt have that kind of luxury - to have 10-40 ping - and they plays with 90-130 ping. Hell even some players whines about 70 ping. =D.
It's no use to throw away the idea of playing on 1.32 just because of certain players or clans are against it. There is over 10 clans which might play this tournament and just count how many ppl are involved.
Well i havent played any wars in ef but i got lots of experience of pb related games and wars. Its not that bad. Anyways ,this is just penny of my thoughts. 
You guys think way too much, but anyway, regardless of what we write, the choice of servers, versions and rules will be made by the ones who organizes a league.

well i just played a cw on a FN-server of adam and i didnt have any problems...although i dont have the best computer(256ram/2GHz/P4).no lags or other problems
I lagged for about 15 minutes vs miss! never stopped =/ and honestly my ping was 30 ms, the lag was a brutal STOP every 2/3 seconds...1st time this happens to me.
Let's make a rule when not more than 16 connected clients will be at the same time during matches. Because each additional spectator makes additional load on player's machines and adds laggin.
maybe true but this rule is rubbish! if players can't connect they can't play obviously; I don't choose my teams in advance, I hope there are enough players to come, but when the opponent brings 10 players, I can only bring 6. -1 for refree; -x for onlookers who always come.... And I don't want any "only 7 players per team rules". kthxbi

This is just bullshit man, on public servers there are more people connected and they dont lagout.
Player limits in quake are determend by the server bandwith and speed (sinds often these are hosted on slow pc's) , not by the client on the player. Quake 3 can run fine on a Pentium2 i dono who still uses those antique toys but everything greater as a p3 is able to run 25 - 30 players without any problems.
Punkbuster is to blame for the lag on 1.32, simply cos it uploads and downloads data every few seconds and. This interupts the games dataflow resulting in lag. This counts double cos it up and downloads data to the server and to even balance, increasing the bandwith consumption of the client and therefor in the worst case hitting the upload cap on some dsl connections. Also in some casses the scans that PB does on running processes can cause framelag, the more running processes the worse.
Also for those having lag while using TS or worse skype to talk to ethother during wars. Both eat a lot of upload speed away.
anyway quake is verry sensible for foren data on the line (data not generated by quake it self pb is not a part of quake). Just test that by downloading a file while capping the speed for that download on half your connections bandwith, you will notice that ingame even though quake still should have enough bandwith to work with.
lets slow the gamespeed down, simular to 1.16 Noghost, it's alot better like this :]
