PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe
First :
i played yesterday on 1.32 and i received this 2 filesPnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe with punkbuster
now these 2 programs run all the time even if I do not play quake and whrite files.log in c:/windows/system32/logfiles/punkbuster

Second : at the same time I caught the virus

it will seem that these programs are dependent
somebody here has problems with these 2 files ?
well, i see pnkBstrA.exe in my task manager. pnkbstrB and the virus i have not encountered yet. hope this wont fuck my pc :P
pnkbustrB i think will be launched at starting q3 132...
i also have problems with these new pb files, since i have them pb always kicks me from the servers :/ dunno what to do......
If you have firewall or some kind of spyware/adware you should carefully setup them in order to allow punkbuster to load and execute its modules.

i had the same probs with these two files did a quick net search and found this http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe this will test your PB settings and allow u to uninstall the A and B files from PB i did this then reconnected to the server and it reinstalled them, my fire wall then came up say blah blah blah and i allowed them and no more being kicked, i don't see them in my task manager running when i am not playing quake so thats a new one, any ways try to uninstall them reconnect to quake allow through your firewall and everything should be sweet

zodiac, as a test try to setup a dedicated server (with pb on) on your own machine and connect to it, does this works for you?
no, it doesnt work. pb kicks me immediatly after connecting to teh dedicated server:/
the reason is PB GUID AUTH
Before connecting, set /sv_strictAuth to 0, and /pb_sv_guidrelax to 7 on the server.
