I'm sorry to say this, but this is the worst server i've ever seen in my whole year on quake 3.

Why?

- Everytime I connect it says server is for low pings only, sometimes I can get in after 1,000 reconnects and have an unstable 140 ping, well if its for low pings only how am I in it with that sort of ping? Everyone elses ping seems fine except from UK people, it seems that when there are less people playing in the server the ping is sometimes 50-60 if we're lucky. Why is this?

This server you're talking about doesn't like english football hooligans, that's all

i get 200 ping at all servers now. a recurring UK problem.... btw for the low ping servers, bind /reconnect as a button, then keep pressing the button twice. That is how i get in #1CW with bad ping xD

for some reson us uk peeps are latley have trubble with pings here who knows it could be somthing our isps are doing

the server says "for low ping only " because its on  sv_maxping 130 , i will change it and put on sv_maxping 0 , but that will authorize players to play with more than 130 ping and i dont think it was a good thing for gameplay !

 you  have an unstable 140 ping ! i am sorry , probably a pearing problem , do a server trace on HLSW and you will see where you ping take value !

 

mine is euro1net . im on the £10 for 1mb broadband for 24 months. so my speed is 1mb. In the morning when i do speed test, it is relatively that speed. When i do in night i get abt 400kb. My ping was actually better when i was on 512kb broadband from timewarp. I am pretty sure that there is no fair usage policy and it is unlimited broadband.

Sorry for the blurredness but this clearly shows that my broadband isnt running at 1mb and i am pretty pissed off with this. Maybe there are 2 many people in each of our area on the internet? on http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ i found the tracker data thing. It comes up with, in 2003, my line, Daubhill exchange is full. I wonder if my line is now massively overloaded. I have got my dad 2 email my isp and i have got no reply since. I am really angry at this because i cant do my quake 3 without my internet xD

Ok, well maybe the ping will gradually be sorted at any time, who knows, anyway sv_maxping 0 sounds good saristian, considering people with 200+ pings still get in when its set to 130 but n/m at least we can get in first time, hmm yay! =o

yeh sometimes it dont let me in and i am USA so i always have 130+ :P

Ok but tell me how i can never enter cw server whitout reconnecting first.  Its very annoying to get the message "for low pings only" everytime i join the server especially because i always have ping 30 there.

Can u pls set it on sv_maxping 0 or sv_maxping 250
