Hey,

I've decided to quit Quake for a while, I kinda fucked up my tests at school and I already failed one year once 2 years ago, I can't do that again so I just have to study my ass off and with Quake on my pc I won't have the discipline to keep studying, I need to uninstall it so maybe I'll be back in a few months but to be honest I hope not. It's loads of fun but I guess I have taken the game too serious and it takes too much time for me. Been cool playing with you guys but I'm sure it's best to just quit here where I can still repair the damage in school. I needed to make this post to remind myself I told you all I quit and after this I know I won't come back without making a fool of myself, which will retain me from doing so.

q3 is pow n all, agreed. its the only online game i play, so i wont dispute that mr pimp slapper. Its just that im not...obsessed like most of you weirdos are!! I mean, when people screw up their year at school/college/uni (Lyor, im looking at YOUR direction) cos of quake, then i just find it strange!!! surely a game cant be that good that it replaces your life!!

but then, i do remember a life time ago when i used to play q3 a lot more.

and i agree with u Maddy! for me, the game isnt what makes it exciting, its the people. When im playing it with people i dont know or get along with much, its boring and i stop playing. however, if im with people i get along with, i dont even have to be playing and i could be having fun. so its definitely the people that make the game. well for me at least.

hah, it's not screwed up yet, i just have to spend more time in it, schoolyear just started =).

dude! its ok. dont feel ashamed. just come out and tell us how quake screwed up your year, and ultimately life. its ok. we wont think any less of you. well not much.

tbh i think i probably play q3 the most out of like the world but ive never really messed up anything important at school...but then again i do find most the stuff covered so far to be easy...maybe when it gets hard but meh...



also i agree the people make the game a lot better, but i do like the game itself in many ways...im the type of person who must see progression, so i like playing something i know im not gonna stop getting better at...

bah i miss the time i could enter a server and ALWAYS every time i enter get fragged by hitman on my screen man you know it you might be a old gray man and forgot it but you have been like lyor mabey worse the good old days :'(.



btw q3\gaming does not replace your life, IT IS your life :P but then parents friends ect tell you you dont have a life :S (well a gamer breaths (at least if he does not play cd for 6 days without eating or sleeping) and i always thought that as long your heart beats and your breathing your alive but well.......



interesting discussion btw, why do my parents does not like me playing games, but if my sisters or themselfs are caught in a book (reading WTF brrrr) and are reading 24\7 its ok :S (not that i understand why you would follow a written texst if you can play a game and make the story yourself :S brrr reading.
