as u all know quake 4 is coming out soon i have some pictures of what might be it not sure though as they are not realy doing any think any way take a look at wat the frunt cover of q4 will be and the cd case (box) quaker oats is what it looks like it will be called

looks too much like doom....looks like they've forgot that doom3 was mainly single player...and q4 is meant to be opposite

hmm... well after seeing the vid, u are right. it does look like doom, shame that. is it still going to be based on the same engin, as q3. and for the most part we all play q3 cos of the multiplayer acepts of it. Is there still going to be straft jumping? means u can gain speed when u jump, faster u are the better, means u can get to the helth faster.

it a massive movie over 500MB, but it well worth it. i can guess your reaction already if u have not seen it B4. "OMG WTF. Is that possable? Are they cheating", well in answer to that NO they are not, they are playing defrag, as some of u might already knwo. ( defrag in a nut sell, tricking mod, no killing: straft jumping, plasmer climbing, rocket jumps....that kina stuff.) this year at quakecon there is going to be a trick off. there is also going to be a live web cast of the event too. i cannot w8.

yes i know what u mean q3 is a diffrent game hard to play for some as they just not used to the speed q4 looks more real life movment kinda crappy but still its more real to most it will be cool as my tits but other just need speed like me i cant get in to most games as they just seam slow and stuff

No it won't be on the same engine as quake 3, its been 6years there are better engines available...But it WILL use the doom3 engine, the engine is for graphical power, configuration etc not the movement....Like q3 engine has been in many many games, for example RTCW:ET - and the movement is completely different

I think they will keep in trick jumps m8, but not sure - it would lose ALOT of people as there is a very big tricking community so its a must really...

From just the size of the movie I imagine you picked Tricking _iT 2, yeah high skill movie, but there are better in that aspect..Its mainly for its ton of effects and different soundtracks...But then again I've not even checked if it is the movie you meant so I'm not going into detail

 

Jakie its kinda what I'm hoping in a way...That it will be slow and peeps don't buy much of it...So re-release q3! weee many many people would arrive

yo chee, dude this is by NOT a movie for it sounds and production, i could see the movie with no sound and i will still be link OMG WTF!!!!, altho this movie does have a good sound track, and the production is very good. but dude, there is one part in the movie where one of the players go off a bounce pad, travles along a bit, shoots about 5 plamers ( while still flying), to the wall then will a sweetly time rocket jump uses thoughs 5 plamers to climb up the wall. u have to see it to bleave it. just see the movie. start the downlaod just b4 u are going to eat of somehting, and see it when u are back, only takes me about 30 mins to get that so u will have no prob as your connection is fater than mine. u just have to see this movie. and i don't think that there is a better movie for defrag. well if ther is I have not found it yet, and i have seen over 50 differnt defrag movies. most of the time i just start the DL of say 2 differnt movies then i go to sleep, once the DL is done my pc has autosleep function if not in use for 25 mins, just do that. only think u can do that in XP pro tho, not sure.




just see the movie ALL and u will understand.

and i have seen the movie before - many times, been over it lots

and yeah the content is good, i didnt say it wasnt - but there are vids better for content imo (I much much much prefer Live to Fly, iT Defrag etc)
by sounds i meant a feature on ownage that people were basically bowing down to was the fact it had 5 different full soundtracks

and effects are its best feature - tbh i dont think there is an argument with 99% of people (own-age.com poll on it, effects are highest last i checked) cos its one of the best edited movies ever

but i understand why it can be diff in diff eyes cos ive played with iT members, i got a m8 who was asked by iT to join but couldnt cos had a year military stuff to do (now back and still puts me to shame in tricks ) so im just used to it

well chee i played unrealtournament for a wile and besides the point that that game is way to slow the nicest game types are TDM, that football thing unslaught and assault if you ask me the last two got vessels but that makes the game more interesting, cos even with the vessels many parts of the maps must be done on foot and you have a big chance that you destroy the vessels. and vessels are fun to mess around in.





the onley problem is here that i think the ones that play q3 will be a bit dissapointed in quake 4 just because the demands of your pc will be incredible high and that will make that it wont run as smooth as quake 3 runs now. quake 3 is massively overpowered on todays pc's. if you run quake3 on a voodoo 2 16 mb with shitty items and a framerate of 25 fps after you used a pc with a GF6800 to call something, the game is in a instance a lot less fun. that will also happen with quake 4 peeps wont be able to run in high detail and with a nice framerate anymore. Also because these demands i think the engine can never be as fast and smooth as as in the old quake cos many pc's wont pull verry fast movement on the doom 3 detail levels.



last part i dislike is the looks of the wapons and skins, its the same as in doom3 and i dont realy like the wapons in doom 3 to mutch detail in useless lights and stuff. Quake is imo a game that is aimed for speed not for detail.

oke what i can see in that movie taken the gameplay of UT2004, but the buildings and grafix of doom put those together and you have fuckedup a good game title. to complex

as long as multiplayer is similar style ill still play it though...


i know i read some interview where id stressed that they wanted to keep multiplayer to do with movement - timing etc etc etc    --- but cant remember where i found it

yea quake 3 does have good multiplayer, but sometimes its nice for somtheing new.. if it is the same multiplayer as quake 3 the only difference will be different maps/models/ and graphics.. i hope its a little different

if any beta vertion s found tell us please dont think we will realy know hwo good the multi player mode is till we actualy get it they might just of made that trailer to make it look better

jakie - beta versions are for games that are pure online usually...altho probably some exceptions to this...cos if its beta some people will find a way thru...always 1


warnell - change can be good, but something as perfect as the quake multiplayer,imo, shouldnt be tampered...

quake 3 got a beta to, unreal had one so why not quake beta are nowadays more like teasers to let you buy the game if it commes out.

yes i mean like a playeble demo were say it just one of the maps and some walls are incomplet like just black and some are high detail

nowadays demo's and beta's are mutch the same , demo's come generaly one month before the game are often buggy and just pre versions of the real game.
