try Be active- it's healthy and cleanses your mind. Try football, ballet, basketball or even shopping at the mall. Exercise and healthy activities will take away the loneliness and make you feel good. Being healthy will not only improve your internal disposition, but it will make you more physically attractive.
Write letters. You can write to your relatives or you could find a penpal. Type 'penpals' into Google and you should find lots of sites where you can find email and postal friends for free. Writing a letter is an excellent way to spend time and get back in touch with people. Be kind, generous and helpful to everyone.
Smile even through the tough times - you'll attract people as everyone likes a positive person. Don't take out your negative feelings on others. Treat them as you would wish to be treated and you'll find yourself coming a long way. Look on the bright side of life. It might be hard at first, but there's always good around you. It's easy to see all the bad things in the world, and to always be negative; it's refreshing to acknowledge the goodness in life. It may seem impossible, but all you have to do is open your eyes.
Stop hating. If you are anti-this or anti-that, figure out why you're so against it. If you explore things that you are against, you might find good in it - if not, you will know your enemy better and be better able to converse intelligently. Someone who is full of hatred but cannot say why is viewed as irrational and unpleasant by the people around them. Try to make friends with an animal, such as a dog or cat. Often, pets can act as a nexus of socialization. Having a pet gives you an excuse to get outside and talk to other pet owners that you meet on the streets or in the park.
You might seem a little crazy if you say "Hi!" to every animal you meet, but you will seem friendly and young-at-heart, and these are great assets in socializing. Find a hobby. It can be listening to music, reading literature, or even brushing up on your computer skills. Skills and talents are also things that social networks can be built around. Join a club or guild devoted to what you are good at.
Go outside. Getting outside, even for a little while, is good for you. Take a walk or just enjoy the sun and fresh air for a few minutes everyday. Don't be afraid to go out to the cinema, catch a play or go to a concert on your own. Appreciation of different arts will connect you to society and give you something to talk about with other people.
Don't be afraid to fail. Socializing is extremely difficult, and even the most beautiful social butterfly will find themselves in awkward situations regularly. To properly socialize, you must be willing to go out on a limb and take a risk. If you talk to the popular kids at their table and they insult you, walk away and praise yourself for stepping into that lion's den. If you ask someone out and get rejected, praise yourself for having the bravery to admit your feelings- even the greatest players have trouble approaching people.
Explore whether or not you may have a deeper problem. Excessively negative feelings might be the result of an earlier trauma - an inability to socialize properly might indicate an inherent emotional imbalance. If you've gotten fit, joined a club and become proficient at a particular skill and are still unable to make friends, then you might want to seriously consider seeking professional help - be it of the psychiatric kind or of the matchmaking kind.
Good luck !
