What maps should be played and what maps shouldn't? I for one don't want too big maps cause it will be too boring (the ones for tdm). On the other had dm1 is a bit too small. Give me some maps, i'll add my favorites later (watching a movie, this is the break).

i would only play on dm17!! otherwise one match coudl last hours lol!!

anyway i would only add dm1, dm2 and dm3!!

small maps, fast matches and no hide and seek games!

what about dm6? and ofcourse the tourney maps! they are made for 1v1

for me dm1 dm2(only on 1,32 cos of sick sounds on 1.31 in my quake somthing is wrong nevermind :P) dm3 dm5 dm6 dm17. And tourney maps without this with fog and this one in space. And what about not orginal maps (i mean maps made by players or other pppl ) what u thing about gohuge great map for 1v1 u can ask Adam or Soadu

gohuge LOL, 1 shot and grapple away as fast as you can . Anyway I was thinking about ztntourney1... i know not many freeze players know it, but it's a very known map for OSP players, and also played in Quakecon.

I really want dm6.

just keep dm6 and dm3, then its all good.

to add some unusual maps:

"Railgun Void" - q3matt2 [!!!]; "Killing Grounds" - MG3DM1; alterbeta, aedm17, q3macho4, korea;

dm2, dm5, ... are in it anyway!

Q3Dm2, Q3Dm3, Q3Dm5, Q3Dm6, Q3Dm17, Q3Tourney3, Q3Tourney4, and if u want some ztntourneys like ztntourney1... For me it's enough.

Forget about dm17, its only a spawn map for noobs.

dm1 is all i want and rather no space maps but i guess that will stay a wish for me

dm's 1-6 should be in...they arent so big? ok dm6 is a tad big..but most of u want it so we'll keep that. 17 i guess is the standard though i dislike it. ctf1?

Yeah I think dm1-6 is good enough, small maps, and dm6 is everyones favourite map.

So you don't want to fight on dm0 Evol?  

ehem i wouldnt call dm6 everyones favourite map , and dm4 i hate (it sucks!) but q3ctf1 sucks for 1vs1 too rather id say, its cooles on 3vs3 like teams

test_bigbox is undoubtably the best map on quake 3

DM0 is fine Monk, but you'll have to keep on /kill to get in the portal room to find me.

I am not in favour of maps hardly anyone knows. Rather choose the maps we all know well and where we all have the same knowhow.

Off course the 1v1 map Q3dm17 must be in the tourney, beside this map i would say choose the small maps (only map 1,2,3,4 and 5) en q3tourney3.

So rzr is a little harsh - no need to be - but anyway he's got a point! The discussion thats been going on for centuries now: custom maps or not! The servers are empty when custom maps are played - it's really a pity! In America it works fine with custom maps! Such a tourney is an opportunity to introduce new maps! So I am FOR custom maps, back me up guys - isn't this tourney for fun also?

andi u are right, but me and frag have tried it sooo meany times before, people playing on the server then custom map comes up no one has it, and bam server empty, then it will stay that way untill some one has the map. or either me and frag change it back, im getting pissed off with this, every one here say yea custom maps, but yet when we put them on the sever no one play, tell me WTF! is going on, atm WeeD efreeze has about 50 custom maps on it u know how meany get played none, cos no one willing to download them. i say Fuck it, i had enoght i been trying to get custom maps in to the roations for 1.5 years now, and i am Fucked off now, so screw it, could not give a shit any more, as for the tourney, i have lots and lots of very small, but very cool maps, but there no point sayin them or even trying to play them cos no one will have them or be willing to down load them.

Well I want other maps too, but if every1 is too damn lazy to get the 2 map packs from here then its useless. If all the active players on this forum have them, we can just play them no? Screw the rest :P

Missy got a point too - If certain custom maps are allowed, and some players don't have them - they must loose by default 10:0. i guess everyone will download them very fast if this was a rule?! --> Lyor?!

if u implement that rule, the amount of interested would drop 60-70%

omg i kept out of this discussion so far but now after kings gay comment on custom maps ...

- the players that signed up for the tourney read this forum (most at least) and so should find out about the maps
- the comment about interest dropping by such a high percentage is just unrealistic
- maybe 1 has a domain for only the map packs? then take the URL up in the server names .. (can have austrian server as mirror if needed - !really needed!)
- maybe also all that read this forum make a bind saying that every1 should go to that domain then ? or links on clansites ?

This is a map discussion! Are we having customs maps now or not??? I think the two organizers should put an end to this and come up with a decission!
