Hi people,

I've been wondering why there's no blacklist of, uhm, wierd people, if you know what I mean, like campers, cheaters and stuff. I have to say that I've been really pissed off a lot recently by wallhackers and lame campers, mainly on HoD servers but on 333 as well ( great example of what I'm talking about is Angelus .. ).

Therefore I think that both HoD and 333 admins should consider creating some kind of Blacklist, where reliable ppl would put names of these ppl at and after some discussion and confirmation such suckers would be banned.

If there already is something like BL just gimme a link and lock this topic, thanks.

P.S.: I wish ONI guys would stop being so rude and abusive to me, I haven't done anything bad to the clan, I left due to my own decision and I think there's no reason to keep asking me "why?" and calling me names when I answer. This is adressed mainly to King, thx boy.

there is a simple explenation, first of all there are banned i think 3 peeps from hod server and none from 333.

this has several resons first of all the reson for stema not to ban is he beleaves you need to use your admin powers as less as possible and convince others to stop doing things you dont want them to do by talking. that is why noone has admin rights accept stema on the 333 server.

the second reson is that there are peeps who cheat under other peeps names, so we cant ban names just ip's cos that is the onley way to be sure we ban the right one. because names are not bind to ip's you cant wait till the player with the same name as the cheater commes back cos it can be a other person. in quake you can onley trace ip's by the rcon so in 333 server stema must be there wile there is a person who cheats to ban him. and cheaters mostly dont do it wile stema is in or promise not to do it anymore..

the third reson is that its hard to see even for someone who has seen many cheaters if that person cheats you cant ban someone who does not cheat so you need to be 100 % sure. like seeing things earlyer can be caused by a differend ping. so a high pinger will say sooner somene uses a wallhack cos for his eye he is looking true corners wile that person in real got just a nice connection. and how to see a difference between a good aim like lyor and autoshoot. some cases are cristal clear but many are douptly

so that is the reson there is no blacklist

I agree with everything you wrote, Rebtor, but nevertheless any oldschool player would also have to agree with me, that current state of q3 community and all the things that happen eg. on HoD/333 servers are almost unbearable.

You know, any online game I've played ( not even games like q3/UT but also Ultime Online ) is supposed to be played for fun, and I really do not enjoy playing simple maps for 40 minutes because of some dirty camper and stuff like this. I don't think anyone is likely to convince ppl like supernova, *Killer*, Pamelka etc. to stop spoiling other ppl's fun because pissing others off is exactly what fun means for kids like these.

Of course it's difficult to say who's cheating and who is just that god damn good, but there have been some obvious cases reported recently and nothing has been done so far.. and that makes me think that no-one really cares

Maybe I'm just too nostalgic, maybe I just relish too much in talking about good old days when chatfragging, thawstealing, camping and saying "fuck off" every 30 seconds was considered lame and bannable. It would just make me really happy if there was at least some visible effort to make things better.

Btw another thing that really pisses me off is long-time spectating, I mean ppl who go afk for 30 minutes and longer and "inhabit" a player slot. For example it's often impossible to connect and play on HoD tdm masters, because it's like 16/16, server full, kthxbye but only 10 out of the 16 ppl are playing, the rest is spectating and talking shit. Guys, there's something like irc, heard of it?!

P.S.: I'm often kicked out of the 333 tdm server for no reason, is it my fault or does it happen to everyone eventually ?

i did not wrote my own idea's if it was up to me more peeps had rcon and would all cheaters be banned. probelem that commes with that is that there can be made mistakes

problem is a name is not enough the onley cheaters that can be banned are the ones that are spotted wile a admin was there and noted there ip's names can be faked ip's not.

for some is this a chatbox but i agree spectatig in a full server is not fair

this happends when there many peeps in the server its normal that you can get kicked ectualy it happends always but the more peeps the sooner. ?

I have dream.. that one day.. all the players will stop being stupid for no reason.. that world will be full of fair-play-people who play games for fun instead for number of frags / value of skill of their avatars. Well, just kidding.

I spoke about effort, about how ppl should at least TRY to make things better and get out of the shit we've all sunk into. Well, for most of the ppl I've noticed being logged-on today the matter ain't important enough to post a simple sentence like "yes, I agree" / "no, I disagree" / "sorry, I'm retard, I can't have my own opinions".

Anyway, many thanks to steven and rebtor and chee ( *winks* ) for being exceptions. I suppose the rest enjoys playing q3 this way, well then it's probably okay the way it is and I'm the weird moaning bitchy loser here, sorry.

u are not, i feel the same way, i know it late to post this, but this is the first time ive seen this post. i aggree, i have not been such a victim of what cathy has been talking about (not to say that it has not happend to me as it has),, but i do know who she feel, i have not seen any cheating going to at the mo, but i have not been paying as much as i uesd too; but iam always on the look for this stuff as i dont want it to happen to me. Like robtor say there is not much that can be done, but i think we as a comunity should look out for these things if u think that there is some on cheatin dont just say "cheater cheater" wtf u still in school, (applogies for thoes how are muhaha) but the best thing to do is record them. Then post a link where it can been seen or send it to me tickal40@yahoo.com i will look at it also i will send it lyor and stema so they can look to. to record just goin to console and type \g_syncorniesclients 1 then \record (soz on spelling) but u can hit tab it do the work for u eg \g_syn TAB then \record.


for a smother recording while u record turm \g_synchronisclients off after u start recording as this will be smother for u when u are seeing it, but dont worry the recording will be fine either way if u leave it on or not.


as for the people speacking for long amounts of time some times u can use he all seeing eye(which can be downloaded here on stema in the download section) u can join a server which is full if there a lots of people speacking, i say this as this has only happend to me once so propb was server error, i am not to botherd if people spec for a long time i do it my self as some times iam eating my food; then want to play after or some1 call me and iam on the phone and can not play well if iam talking on the phone, unless i have my hands free kit in.

I have very few time now but i must reply!!

I am the server admin of HOd and must say that the cheaters and campers and laggers annoying me too.
BUT
I have not much force cause the weird mod only suppord IP ban. So if someone got dyn-IP he must just reconnect. And in poland, many player have the same IP (dont know why) so i ban many ppl with one ban that dont cheated.
You saw the new message of teh days ? KICK/BAN FOR ALL LAME STUFF. So, if u play , and i am there, just telle me who u would kick, and i look what i can do.
You even can mail me whenever you want!

Hmmmmm the damn specs in full servers.... yes for many ppl quake is a chatroom... but most even dont join spec to chat .
I never chatfrag so its boring for waiting for chatting ppl to play....

Hmm maybe i give you a priovtepass (To all other, NO WAY TO ASK FOR IT ! I ONLY GIVE IT TO PPL I WANT) mail me.

With the private you are able to play (but the problem is not away then....)

thanks but here there are not a lot more who respond often there are here something like 10 forum spammers from with 5 post more times a day so give it a few days you have started a interesting discussion.

to poison, i think that many peeps use the same ip's because of the dinamic ip's they got there if you have as ISP say 10000 members you dont need 10 000 ip's if the modem of the clients disconnects after he shuts down his pc. for isp's can this save costs cos instaid of 10 000 ip's they onley need 9000 and for them every ip is money. the most perfect solution would be banning on mac adres sinds that cant be canged accept by buying a new network adapter. banning on name is also useless cos he will just change his name or you ban the wrong person.

hehe well i be making my own server soon once i get my connection updated, n i wont be having all this cheating n abuse even if u think they cheat i will kick em - swearing what swearing if i see bad language u will be kicked muhaha oh i cant wait for this :P

that last sentence is just why stema does not give away his rcons cos peeps may use there admin powers wrong cos they like having power and ban peeps who have done nothing wrong. you cant just ban everyone who is not doing execly what you like them to do you can just ban people who have done something seriously wrong and even than is the question if banning is not a to great penelty

I was only playing lol i wouldnt want rcons powers if i dont like the people in the server i just type /quit and go to either another server or just play another game sometimes single player.

sure it will work ? tipp: freeze cant clientkick correct if there are more then 16 ppl. then the client numbers are wrong u u cant kick the one u want .... it SUCKS. so my server is 16 slots now
And are you all time in your server? I think if u are in, nobody will cheat, if u leave, all will make party. i know it , samt by me.

AH good discussion Cathy. Im sorry I react so late but im pretty sick the last week or so so Im not on computer alot. First I say I dont know much about kicking/banning people cause I think there is alot more to it than many think. But I DO get annoyed by many lil kids who say stupid things or act like a baby. For example: I HATE it when people start this 'lava walking' on lvl11. When they do this I just leave cause I really cant stand it. Also if 1 person keeps on camping and somethimes more follow his example! I really hope something can be done against those idiots in the future cause they really spoil all the fun

you guys take the game too seriously :P, if you don't like it, stop playing it: there will allways be kids who react immature (me), people who camp (noobs), or people who are so bored so they walk in the lava (also me), it's a part of the game.

why must we do something? all the attempts we tried like changing mods did not work in the end, let's just enjoy our playing as it is, and don't complain, because if you do, you shouldn't play this game since you are not enjoying yourself with it

Oh-hooo, I indeed take the game stuff too seriously, and you know why ? 'Cause I spend most of my time working and when I'm not at work then I'm just busy, or with my friends somewhere or do anything else young "gal" like me can possibly be doing in her free time.

Apart from time when I can play q3 at work just because there's nobody around who could check whether I really do what I'm supposed to do or not, I don't have much time left for playing.

Nevertheless, I play. Mainly because I like the game, or I'd rather say I  had liked the game back in the old days and somehow I thought it would remain the same forever. And when I play, then I really PLAY. Playing, for me, means time when I enjoy my free time with other people. I'm not trying to be the best or the most cool person ever or anything like that. I'm just having fun.

And various campers, cheaters, thawstealers and ppl like Lyor and King, who are incapable of at least a lil bit mature behaviour and apparently have nothing better to do in their pretty fucked up lives than to play q3 and stuff, really ruin my entertainment.

I'm sorry for writing so long contributions, I guess it wasn't a great idea to start posting here, but I'm really sick of ppl who piss off anyone around or just talk bullshit all day about how their aim is great and therefore they're so cool. I wish they would grow up finally

Love you too Cathy, i'll try and grow up, but i will not hurry it, because if you try to act so mature where you are not, you might end up like you. By the way, you where the first one calling me immature, i know i am, but you where the first one to say it, it means that you are also the only one who has problems with it, therefor i will also not hurry my mature behaviour, i'll leave that to steven cheeetos and reb .
