Hi all,

I have a small suggestion to make so tell me what you think.

I know from speaking to certain people that they get really frustrated by people accusing them of 'botting' all the time.

Also, other people get pissed off because they feel they are getting fragged by someone who is cheating.

Both as annoying as each other!!

So my suggestion....

Would it be possible for somone to put up a 1.32 punk blaster enabled server for 1 day, and tell everyone the date before hand.

Then those who feel they get cheated and those who are accused of cheating would have a chance to set the record staight!

I know not everyone will have a chance to play on the server, but we all know how fast word travels in our community.... so they don't need to.

Just a suggestion to those who might be able to do this, as I do not have the connection speed to host a server.

But some time in not too distant future ill start work on a lil proj that may stop this...

i like this idear to all though that cant use that punkbuster go out and buy the realy vertion of q3 its olny cheep any way now

yea.. true... the only way is with pb or a damn lan..

man i wish someone... anyone played a lot of multiplayer games where i lived.... i would really like to go to a lan and see how i do.. but i hate 1v1...

but anyway.. this is an ongoing fight in the multiplayer world.. i think we all know that

maby if we all wnet to 1.32 then no cheats there but i dont like the new stuff thats on 1.32 but i think we would all get used to it

the problem with 1.32 is that not everyone can join punkbuster servers cos they started playing quake after it was removed from te store or simply did not bought it also 1.32 is a version onwitch there are many freeze players but it is to big for a nice community you won't find the same players everytime witch makes 1.31 so fun you can get contact and even make something i would call friends in 1.31 and jeah the cheating is a problem but here you are called cheater there you are called hacker there will always sty ppl who have to ruin someons fun

yes i understand about the comunity thing how we are all m8 at 1.31 but somthing must me done

mmmm i have vacation i will talk with some peeps to find a solution cos this cheater thing is getting out of hand its said that more than half of the active topics are about cheaters

well tbh, i think there are a few easy solutions to it other than resorting to EVIL  pb

try and get ref passes to work so if enough peeps think so they can kick a cheater...

or gimme a looonng time and ill work on a prog to stop cheaters...

cant we just name and shame the cheaters then block them form getting on the servers or give them warning then do it maby if we could down load the demos of them then voted on weather or not to keep them blocked for the server can stema or posion do this or is this all just my mad mined

I startet to see cheaters not any more as any problem...cheating isnt fun at all and most (you cna see that) stop ecause they dont have to do anythign but walking (the iambot does all the hard work) ofcourse there are chetaers who cant get enough of it....the most anoying thing is that people call other peepz cheaters to quick ( so do i , i know) allthoug demo's can be faked sooooooo easy that it wouldnt prove anything tho!!!
Just put on the name of the guy you hate and let your friend make a demo with you cheating on it and B-I-N-G-O another guy banned from the server who is as clean as butter!!!If cheetos really could create this programme this would be great...and i can live with it if it takes long even if it takes years :P well i hope soemthing will be done to it!
im now gonan reat the atrical of uuhmm..i forgot he got an anti cheat or soemthing sould have read it first!!:P by the way 1.32 is no good id! Way to big i need to wait half an hour to load just only the tdm servers!!! its sigh allthoug i got kick of 90% of them i dotn know why

hehe on my exs site was a hall of fame and a hall of lame :P but i removed and creating a nicer one right now...btw Cheeetos..i knwo you meight htink im an asshole :P but when you finished with all those thousands of sigs can you mb help me with soemthing like that one time...?

i will be working on that soon amigo - maybe mid november...but its not full proof...im not the best of programmers....

imp, dunno if u have punkbuster, but if u havent ull be kicked indeed.. and 1.32 isnt to big, with ase u can search for the good servers and then connect by ip, or directly with ase, so the size aint a problem

idd if u dont have pb enabled and up to date ull be kicked from a major amount of servs...meh

+ idd ase rules this as it just shortens everything.

i have enabled but then when im in (the map is loaded) its shuts down and put on thre cd-key screen were i need to enter my cd-key but i,m using an 100% official key :/ i really dotn knwo what this allthough i always install a new quake 3 arena on my comp 4 1.32 but still im getting kicked :/ soem people say to me i need to update my old quake first to 1.30 then 1.31 then 1.32 but i dotn think that woudl make sence :/ i just always go directly 1.32

well doing that long pr switching is just crap - u can skip from 1.11 to 1.32 if u want...

Hmm ur offical cdkey has never been given out? or did some1 borrow ur disc once? or updated pb?

that can have 2 resons



1. you don't have the right version of punkbuster (unlikley) cos than you don't get kicked but just forced to spc till you are up to date
2. this is a result of trying to join a pure server when you don't have the right files. pure server means that the client (u imp) need to have execley the same files as used on server (one file more of less or a differend version) and you will get kicked and you returen to the key screen like you said.




solution is to delete the mod end download it from the server you want to join but this is a verry timeconsuming job and you mess up your quake dir fast.

You have set autodownload on?

Pheraps you haven't a good .pk file...

man i hate these EMS servers.. yea i get good ping and all but they have a retarded server cfg with permanent haste which is gay, so you run super fast and its all spam shots.. then i get acused of being a cheater by a bunch of players.. ahh im about to give up on quake.

like 50% of the americans thinks i cheat, i guess they are just noobs >=).

arent there 1.32 servers in the vs with nice players
