Hey all,

I've got a question and I opened a New Topic for it because I think there are lots of more people who have the same question...

How can I make my server better? With handling more people and lower pings? *Mr.*BoMBac! told me that I could change the amount of space that the server used. He does that to his own server to, when I was in his server when he did that, the ping really went lower. He said he turned the amount of space to 50 MB. I want a better server to and I am prepared to use 2 gig for it.

But how?

First of all I think you've taken his term of space wrong perhaps? Because you want to use 2gigs of ram in a server? LoL crazy amount...(I only think you've taken it wrong because you could give a server 67gb of space and it wouldn't matter)

In the servers script (or batch file, not sure what these freeze servers use) put /com_hunkmegs (number) -- its default is 30 space on a server (even though if you try it will tell you 56 - but that's just your individual player) and I think the max you could need is 700 - but deffo don't want that much -- Try 120 should work fine...

*Note* Make sure you have a decent amount of ram though, because quake uses 56 (unless you've altered) and the server will then use 120 and then the rest of the thigns you have running will want ram...Can all pile up and make it slow to change it

Can it do any damage to my pc? or will it just go back just like it was when I close the server?

No it can't do any damage to your pc and yes it will go ok when you close the server, but if you're below 10mb ram even a small notepad file can take as long as 3minutes to open..So closing would become difficult -- Donno what this is meant to be but I like it

Do I just need to put: /com_hunkmegs 120 in the server log or: /com_hunkmegs "120"

I think without the quotes is fine, if not then just put them in
