Hi! I know its a noob question but im a noob. So how do i set up an efreezy server and where can i get some kind of tutorial for it. My game is on 1.31 now and as i heard i should move to 1.32 so plz help me with those stuff if its not too much problem for ya.

hmm

in efreeze pak from this site u have server configs.

move one of them to efreeze folder and rename it to server.cfg

now make shortcut to quake3.exe and go to propeties of this shortcut

u should see something like "C:\quake3\quake3.exe"

now add to it this commands: +set dedicated 2 +set fs_game efreeze +exec server.cfg +set net_port 27960 +set com_hunkmegs 40

and it should look like this: "C:\quake3\quake3.exe" +set dedicated 2 +set fs_game efreeze +exec server.cfg +set net_port 27960 +set com_hunkmegs 40

why 128? im using 40 and it's fine.

Ok i have set the things like u just said. But it doesnt work. I made the command look like this :

"E:\Games\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +set dedicated 2 +set fs_game efreeze +exec server.cfg +set net_port 27960 +set com_hunkmegs 40

but it doesnt start console stops on sending heartbeat to master.gmw.de or :

Hitch warning: 788 msec frame time

what should i do now ?

Ok super cool big thnx to Adam. its even better than i wanted but i cant set a hook and only wep i have is machinegun Is there any list of useful commands which i can use as a noob admin?

part of the osp thingy come with a config maker, its an easy way to make and set a sever config, make this config by following the easy buttones. like click this for that and so on, call it q3config, and u are underway Soady

Well maybe im anoying but its just that when i log on the server and its only a machinegun and no hook i tried to set \g_hook 1 and and \bind mouse2 +button5 and nothing happend. I found some config maker but it doesnt change a thing tbh. The commands that are written in the cinfig are not working. Score limit is 10 and i had 11 points. Some of them work ofc, I made bots available but still cant set things that i really need...here's my email and if any1 has some good server cfg plx send me if its not a prob

k important to know:

1. if you use osp or any none efreeze paks DELETE THEM! (efreeze folder: only efreeze-04core and efreeze-04pak)

2. scorelimit = capturelimit and NOT fraglimit

 your efreeze config is not good or not running  !

ask Adam for a (the  good config !  and restart !

C:\quake3\quake3.exe" +set dedicated 2 +set fs_game efreeze +exec server.cfg +set net_port 27960 +set com_hunkmegs 40

but if you think you have a good config you can run it in game

/rcon myrcon exec server.cfg  or

/rcon myrcon exec myefreeze.cfg

Ok so its this way : the Efreezy pack is downloaded from this site and configs are from there they are called clanwars.cfg, efreezy-pure-tdm.cfg and i tried them all i think none of them work properly. Also if i have to delete all osp and other stuff u mean it deleting them totaly from Q3 folder or from Efreezy folder ? or from CFG?

no ! delete nothing ! 

this mod need only 2 files ( i means .pk3 ) in efreeze folder !
 ( only efreeze-04core.pk3 and efreeze-04pak.pk3) !

be sure you have only this 2 files in efreeze folder ! the other files must be only  .cfg !

the command com_hunkmegs is used to increase or decrease the size of memory used by the game. By default it is set to 56 which allows the game to run on computers with 64 megs of ram. If your system has more than 64 MB of RAM, you can adjust this value to allow for the loading of more unique models. For example: If you have a machine with 256 megs of RAM you can use the command com_hunkmegs 128 to allocate more memory to the program.

just a tips copy ! perhaps useless ?

i know for what is that command, but i read long time ago 16mb is for ffa 32 mb is for tdm and 48 is for ctf ( vq3, not insta ) so i think 40 is enough for efreeze server

Ok thnx all for the help server seems to be working all right cya soon on 1.32 i hope...if ill solve this problem too
